The Forgotten Regiments‘ is the sixth volume of the series on the Sikh Soldier by Narindar Singh Dhesi. In the regiments of the Indian Army, the Sikh Soldier fought in the majority of the Battles of the British Empire and went on to fight in the trenches of France and Flanders to the sands of the African Sahara, from the deserts of the Middle East to the steaming jungles of Burma. The reputation of the Sikh soldier as the premier colonial soldier was so great that from the outset the colonial administrators insisted that Sikhs must be supplied to them for the paramilitary policing needs of the colonial forces.
