Recruited mainly from Militia men in the County Of Ontario, the 16th Cdn Inf Bn CEF was authorised in October 1915 and arrived in France in February 1917. It fought in several great battles, including Vimy Ridge, Hill 70, Passchendale, Poperinghe, and Cambrai. Some Officers are mentioned in the text. They later became 1st Bn, The Ontario Regt.
