Germany’s Junkers Ju 52 was one of the most familiar, and adaptable, aircraft of the Second World War. Originally intended as a simple cargo carrier, the JU 52 was upgraded to become an airliner, a bomber, and to deliver parachutists to their destinations. Seeing service in the Spanish Civil War, Norway, the Netherlands, Crete, North Africa, and used to supply the doomed German garrison in Stalingrad, the amazing aircraft survived the war and even flew on postwar domestic routes in Britain. An affectionate tribute to a much loved aeroplane.
