Harry Peulevé was a decorated Special Operations Executive agent who undertook two missions in occupied France. Captured Peulevé was tortured for several days after arrest. He later made an escape attempt but was wounded in the thigh, and forced to remove the bullet himself using a spoon, he then was transported to Buchenwald concentration camp, eventually escaping in 1945.
