This volume under the title ‘Art Against Fake News’ is a product of the deliberations at a symposium ‘Fake News and Hate Speech, Causes & Consequences: How they subvert our democratic systems’ that accompanied the eponymous art exhibition. Some added contributions from participants are meant to provide a deeper understanding of the subject matter, that lay at the essence of the art exhibit, for which it serves as more than a catalogue. By containing both the text of the deliberations at the symposium and high-quality reprints of the artworks, the book lends itself to both artistic and scholarly sensibilities in sensitising the reader on one of the great scourges of our time
