Wide range of fireplace or mantle styles, including Rococo, neo-classical, Adamesque, eclectic (combinations or hybrids of these styles), but most notably, many Art Deco and then modern fireplaces. We count 19 specimens that are unequivocably Art Deco, or about one-third of the samples. N.d., circa 1930. Oblong, 17.5 by 21.5 cm. Unpaginated, 30 leaves, or 60 pages, each one with a photo of a fireplace. Fireplaces are mostly of stone, but some wood and plaster. Many of the fireplaces employ several different marbles. Some of Art Deco fireplaces are part of larger furniture units, and specifically have bookshelving. We would say that this catalogue also coincided with a renewed interest in traditional fireplaces in apartment living. For the prior decades, as fireplaces were no longer looked to for winter heating, newer apartments might have no fireplaces at all. Come the late twenties, fireplaces became de rigeur in fancier buildings. Scarce -- no copies of this catalogue found on OCLC First Search. Black wrap has hole on front cover, and closed tears along joints, among other things. First interior page with film of soiling, but this can be mostly removed with an eraser if one wishes to make the effort. Otherwise, age toned but clean.
